Cambridge: Where I grew up
You have been writing about your hometowns, so today I'll tell you about where I live: Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge is just across the Charles River, so it is very close to Boston. My favorite thing about Cambridge is that it has a lot of parks and trees. One of my favorite parks is Danhey Park, where I played soccer as a child.
<---This is a picture of Danehy Park.
I also like Cambridge because it has lots of different restaurants from different parts of the world. My favorite place to eat is a Mexican restaurant called Anna's Taqueria in Porter Square, where you can get tacos, burritos and other Mexican food. Cambridge also has good Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, Asian and Caribbean food.
My favorite thing to do in Cambridge is to walk along the Charles River at night and look at the lights of Boston and the moon. On Sunday, Cambridge closes Memorial Drive, a busy street near the river, so that people can run and ride their bikes along the river.
<---This is a picture of the Charles River at night.
One of the most interesting things about Cambridge is that there are a lot of universities. For example, I live right near Harvard University, one of the oldest universities in the USA! It was started in 1636! If you have ever been to Harvard Square in Cambridge, then you have been to Harvard University. Another university in Cambridge is called Massachusetts Institute of Technology (also called MIT), which is where my parents work.
If you have any questions about Cambridge, please comment on this post and I will answer them!
Thank you for reading,
-Will

My home town
I was born in Lianyuan Hunan in China. It was a big town, also it is a middle sized city now. I hope you didn't get confused. It is a same place. I say that because it is totally changed from when I grew up.
First the river is changed. There were many piers and fields along it. I could see the river's bottom with grasses and many rocks when I followed my mother to go carry the water to drink. Now, many houses and factories stand on both sides of the river. I can't see anything on the bottom, nothing except dirty water. No water to drink, nobody even swimming in it. Good thing we have running water now.
Bani beautiful places
They have one called rio Nisao, that is at the border of Bani and Nisao. The other one is the most popular in Bany is called Recodo. It's a long river the passes almost all the town. Recodo has different part where the people like to go. For example, the beginning of it and where it have a small falls that everyone who went there loves. Bani even is a small town has the characteristics of be and touristic town. In Bani you can find others beautiful different. We have a specials big pools that looks like a small amusement park. They are very famous in my country they have parks around, nice pavilion with a nice dance floor the you can came to dance, drink or listen the music. People come any time morning, afternoon and night most of those places are opened until midnight.

GUATEMALA, El Pais de la Eterna Primavera
Tikal
Lago de Atitlan
The weather is nice almost all year. From November to April is Summer time and from May to October is Winter time. My country is called "The Country of Eternal Spring" (El Pais de la Eterna Primavera). The trees are always full of leaves and the rosebushes are always
blooming.
In Guatemala we have beautiful lakes such as Lago de Atitlan, Lago de Izabal and Lago de Peten Itza; incredible volcanos such as Volcan de Agua, Volcan de Fuego, Volcan de Pacaya, etc. and amazing archaeological sites such as Tikal, Quirigua , Zaculeo, etc. and the unique Antigua Guatemala.
Antigua Guatemala
Guatemala is the most modern country of Central America but not the biggest, nor the most literate. The biggest country in Central America is Nicaragua and the most literate is Costa Rica.
Guatemalan people is courteous, kind, warm and most of them with a good sense of humor. We make a joke even with the worst things that happen to us.
Unfortunately, we are passing through the worst crisis we have ever had. There are lack of jobs, the price of food, clothes, education, health....everything is expensive and the salaries are low, we have gangs and a lousy government.
I know all over the world are beautiful, breathtaking and unforgettable places; places where you feel closer to God and I'm pretty sure that you, just like me, in some place of your country feel that way.
My country El Salvador has beautiful beaches
I was born in (Sanvicente). This city has a beautiful amusement park where the people like to enjoy to swim and play in the water. This is really beautiful.
This picture is the amusement park in my city the name is (Amapulapa). The first picture is the wharf of the beach the name is (El puerto de la libertad.

Welcome to Vermont!
There isn't a lot to see in my town. It is a very relaxing and slow paced place. There is no traffic, but almost everyone has a car. You cannot rely on public transportation. If you go there, you would see many people walking, biking and playing outside. There are two shopping plazas in the middle of town, and there is a giant park across from the middle school. The park has a public swimming pool where I used to take swimming lessons. I went to elementary, middle and highschool in Essex Junction. The schools are very good. IBM is the major company in Essex Junction, and this has helped the growth and economy of the town.

A Blog About You
Today I would like you to blog about you. It is up to you to decide what you want to share with our class. It would be interesting to know about things you enjoy doing and what you don't enjoy doing. Think of this blog as a way for me and your classmates to learn something new about you and maybe find things we have in common with each other.
Next week I am going to show you how to post your own blogs so that you can write questions and answers or lead a topic for discussion. For now, I want you to get used to blogging.
Nice work this week!

Assignment 1: Computer Experience
Today I would like you to blog about your computer experience and knowledge. What can you do with computers? What skills do you have? Do you consider yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced computer user? What do you use computers for? What kinds of websites or program do you know how to use? What can you teach others about computers and/or the Internet? What would you like to be able to do? What is one question you have about using computers?
Write well!

Welcome to our class blog!
This is my first blog ever. Do you know what a blog is?
A blog is short for weblog. A blog is an Internet journal that you can keep forever, if you want to. You can ask and answer questions, write about experiences, share information and ideas, and of course, practice your English in an online community.
I hope you enjoy exploring blogging with me this cycle!
