Welcome to Vermont!

I grew up in a small town called Essex Junction, Vermont. Vermont is the state bewtween New York and New Hampshire. Vermont gets its name from the French "Ver (vert)= green and mont (montagne)= mountain; therefore, Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State.

I was born in Burlington, Vermont. Burlington is the biggest city near my house, but compared to Boston, it is a very tiny city. Essex Junction is a small town about 3 miles northeast of Burlington. My parents, grandparents and my mother's brother's family have lived in this town since the early 1970s. When I was born, my parents started building their own house, so I spent the first 6 months living with my parents at my grandparents' house.

There isn't a lot to see in my town. It is a very relaxing and slow paced place. There is no traffic, but almost everyone has a car. You cannot rely on public transportation. If you go there, you would see many people walking, biking and playing outside. There are two shopping plazas in the middle of town, and there is a giant park across from the middle school. The park has a public swimming pool where I used to take swimming lessons. I went to elementary, middle and highschool in Essex Junction. The schools are very good. IBM is the major company in Essex Junction, and this has helped the growth and economy of the town.

  2. Why is this? Does Tmobile have a special contract or are they more understanding when people move to Burlington? I know you have only been there for an hour, but I would recommend you go back. It is worth it!
